Discover Sutri's Rich Heritage

Experience the charm of Sutri, an ancient town with a vibrant artistic community, nestled atop volcanic rock, steeped in history and culture along the historic pilgrim trail.

We offer comfortable accommodations. Always a private room, with some residents sharing a bathroom with another artist. Enjoy fabulous dinners in local restaurants and private homes.

Visual artists will have ample studio space, at Galleria Irtus, writers a quiet place to work.

How do we differ from other residencies? We are nestled into our surroundings, giving artists the ability to immerse themselves in the life of the town. You will be able to walk to cafes, restaurants, the historic pilgrim trail, a museum and more! Day trips will be arranged to scenic places and Rome is a short bus ride away.

Who should apply?

Artists, writers who are self-directed. You are given the time and space to create.

Visual artists that can share an open concept space with other artists. See the button for Galleria Irtus. The gallery will be used for our studios.

Writers will be given a quiet place to write.

There are many steps! There may be steps into your apartment as well as walking around town.

Flexibility is key! You will be in a "foreign" country and you will encounter another language, currency, food, etc.

You are not expected to come knowing what you will create. We hope that the environment will guide your work. There is no pressure to present your work though there will be the opportunity.

Cost

$3000 for 2 weeks, comfy accommodations with a kitchen, living room, work/studio space, delicious dinners together, airport transportation to and from Rome, and much, much more!

$1600. for 1 week, including all of the above
